Abstract

Theoretically show the potential of turbocompound as a Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) system on internal combustion engines in combination of advanced technologies.

Low-pressure compounding. Log P-V diagram for turbocharged and turbocompound engine.

High-pressure compounding.

Diesel engine performance for a low engine speed and medium load.

Pumping work vs. Exhaust back pressure for a low engine speed and medium load.

Trade-off between turbine power and engine power for a low engine speed and medium load.
